Ed – MAPEH 121 is a course, which deals with essential topics that would prepare would-be Health teachers in Barangay Health Center clerkship. One of the necessary preparations of health center clerkship is knowledge in maternal and childcare. It is very timely indeed since this years Nutrition Month Celebration is bearing the theme; “Sa wastong nutrisyon ni mommy, seguradong healthy si baby.” In line with this, Ed-MAPEH 121 is conducting the following activities as a support of DOH and DepEd’s program. This is also one way of instilling the advocacy of maternal and childcare health and wellness.
The 3-day celebration started with an On-the-spot Poster Making contest and an Essay contest. The second day was a display of Bulletin of Information at the lobby displaying the 4 posters of the contestants and some relevant information on “Breastfeeding.” The culmination on the third day was a jingle contest. Rich Lorence Tabuco, BSED-MAPEH 2, won the poster making contest, Mari Zar Goc ong, BSED-MAPEH 4, won the Essay writing contest and the THE HEALTH TEACHERS GROUP won in the Jingle Contest. It was indeed a remarkable experience. Special thanks to Mr. Jestoni B. Babia for judging the three events and Ms. Maryleh Canas for joining Sir Babia in determining the Jingle contest winner.
